I feel like I'm ̶d̶i̶g̶i̶ evolving more 🏊‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏋️‍♂️

I got humiliated in the mini game lol, I'll reread the rules again "off camera" in the next video. I even got a careless game over, I didn't get the exact timing on the attacks from the zombies that drain life, actually, they deal heavy damage. But it's my fault too, I'm not spending on any equipment, just collecting and using what's on the map, not even the items that make the gameplay easier, I didn't buy or activate them. So far, I'm finding the normal mode (recommended) pretty chill, since I didn't have any trouble with the game's bosses. The locations aren't too large or too small, it feels balanced. There are some areas that are inaccessible, so I imagine there will be a return later with some kind of vehicle. I've already seen that the ghost ship will soon belong to the pirates :).

Golden Kamuy, the past is slowly starting to be revealed, I didn't expect the captain to have a family.
Shibou Yuugi, the protagonist seems to have enjoyed revisiting the past, it was interesting to show a bit of the world outside the games.
Sentenced to Be a Hero, the battle has barely started and they're already at a disadvantage.
Jujutsu Kaisen, the powers the authors come up with for this kind of work are always interesting and different from what we see in the West.
Sousou no Frieren, it wasn't a dating like I expected, but neither of them had a shared understanding of that, so I'll cut them some slack.
To Your Eternity, it was postponed to the end of the month...
Gnosia, loop, it seems that now it has gone back even further to the beginning of the planet escape. It's likely that he protects Setsu, gets injured, and loses his memory, thus restarting the cycle? But I still want to know what Gnosia is...
Trigun, that musician's power is totally broken, defense and attack. It reminds me of Gaara and it even slices the ship's external metal structures with that sound wave like a knife cutting butter. I'm enjoying it, everything is very new to me, since I only watched the old anime.

As I mentioned in the previous post, I'll be reducing the frequency of posts. Since I leave playing/recording gameplays for the weekends, I'll try to keep posting every Monday and if during the week I feel I have content to show, I'll post on Thursday or Friday. On Saturday I decided to edit that CharSet from 主人公1/Chara1/protagonist1... Actor1 too? (wow, that's a lot of names for the same file across different versions) that's in the engine's help file. I removed the red lines above on feet, just need to copy the feet from the frame facing one side and paste them on the other side. Only the idle frame of Alex looking down I had to imagine how his hair would fall over his face. After that, I used the curves option in my software to bring the green background color closer to the CharSet background in RPG Maker 2000. I even tried using the RTP CharSet palette on this edited CharSet, but there are some colors that the RTP CharSet doesn't have, maybe those colors are in the RTP Objects/ChipSet palettes. If you want to try, just download the second image out of the four images in the post on X.com.
Speaking of X.com, I don't know why, but I wasn't receiving any notifications for likes, retweets or new followers until I unchecked the native "quality filter" option. From what I researched, this filter not only prevents spam (those fake accounts that like, follow your profile, barely have any posts, but have a link to an Only Fans), it also ends up blocking accounts with few followers like mine or accounts that post infrequently. It seems to be a problem/recent update from 2026 it self. :/

Today I woke up tired/sleepy, but I didn't stop running and I finished in 10:07. Monday I managed to lower my 2.1km time to 10:05 in running and yesterday at the gym after swimming I managed to increase the weight I use in almost all exercises across 3 sets. I feel like I'm improving, but since I've been on this routine for a while, by the end of February I should switch to a new training sheet.

WIP_BigMonster2_2, the Dragon, again? Yes, but this is the VX Ace version. I didn't end up making it together with Monster2_2&6 (VX version) because I would go through the BigMonster sets later anyway. The difference is that one walks on all fours and the other on two legs, besides the design being more detailed in the VX Ace version x.x. I think the width of the Dragon's legs turned out too small. Maybe I'll change it after draw the internal lines of the pixel art.

Staying consistent with the posting frequency 📜

A new month, one less month until next year. It feels far away, but January went by for me as if it only lasted two weeks... I finally managed to play Sea of Stars. I'm playing it in my native language and this game has caught my attention ever since I played its demo in a port city, but only now have I been able to play the full version, so much so that I'm unlocking achievements as I play through Steam. The pixel art in this game is very beautiful, the story seems interesting so far and I like the battle system. The fact that you can deal extra damage reminds me of Super Mario RPG on the Super Nintendo and a bit of The Legend of Dragoon on the PS1, oh how I wish this game had a prequel... D: I was so entertained that I didn't notice the time,  only on the second to last save did I realize it was already almost Sunday dawn.

Golden Kamuy, "Kadokura! Kadokura! Kadokura!" ha ha ha this anime is very good. The protagonists were separated again, so sad.
Shibou Yuugi, I didn't really understand why they decided to vote for Chie, I thought they would vote for the girl with short white hair or the blonde one, since she was a "complicated" leader.
Sentenced to Be a Hero, now they've gone on another mission, a snowy location. I liked the setting and the fortress. It seems the group's con artist had bad luck by being sentenced to be a hero.
Jujutsu Kaisen, another reference, no one talks about fight club. What a shame, I wanted to know how the principal ended up that way, but they didn't show it, I imagine the manga doesn't either.
Sousou no Frieren, there can never be a lack of a hot spring in an anime, never... Good episode. Memories of difficult moments aren't always the worst to remember if you were well accompanied, someday they'll become topics in conversations with friends, reminiscing about the past and laughing a lot, personal experience, trust me. I found it very funny to see Frieren crying and throwing a tantrum like a little child and I'm interested to see how this meeting between Fern and Stark will turn out.
To Your Eternity, what a bizarre birthday party, could it be that Fushi is starting to understand his friend's dreams and that each person must follow their own mortal path?
Gnosia, so this is the truth of the anime hmm... I was expecting more, like an explanation of the connection between the powers and the Gnosia infection as well. Maybe they'll explain it later, since there are 21 episodes in total.
Trigun, Vash actually defeated his brother, but it's Knive's henchmen who are rebuilding him... Now his hair is like in the manga, black and blond. I was a bit confused after this episode's ending, are the concept arts by the manga author or did another artist create them for the anime? By the way, Vash's had a different style, top. I would definitely use it as an avatar if it were back in the days of RPG Maker communities, with my old nickname Vash.

Today I woke up at dawn startled by very heavy rain. It’s nice when it rains while you’re sleeping at night, but since I woke up, it took me a long time to fall back asleep. So it was another sleepy day, and today I want to go to bed early.

BigMonster1_3, the Kerberos, only exists in the VX Ace version. In its original Character, it has dark blue fur, so I decided to modify the original Character to give it a pose for a walking cycle on an map. What I didn't like was making the three tails point downward, I personally found it strange. However, if it's standing still on an open map, it would also be strange to see the three tails in an upward swaying position. I didn't have much trouble making this one, since I had done it before and used the original as a reference. I made some slight modifications and changed its color palette.

A feeling of discouragement hit me... 🙅‍♂️

This is the second gameplay of "Adventures in Sandland: Al and the Underground Labyrinth ( 砂漠の国の冒険記~アルと地底の迷宮~)", from Stage 6 to Stage 8, the end of the game. I died so many times that I had to cut out many of my deaths, otherwise, the video would be too long to upload to YouTube.
Now, speaking about the game in general. Its art is beautiful, the maps are varied and well designed, making progression through the game difficult. You go through all kinds of dungeons with distinct enemies, some of them can be quite irritating if you're in a hurry to finish the game/stage. It's a game that I consider difficult even on the normal mode, which is the one I played. I'm used to fast paced games, where there's always a time limit to meet or the gameplay itself gives you the freedom to land many hits at all times from different angles, but that's not the case in Adventures in Sandland. You must play calmly and patiently, without worrying about finishing the stages as fast as possible, especially because there are places you can only access once and you only get another chance if you reset the stage or die. However, besides losing a life, you also lose what you collected, making it necessary to collect everything again to achieve a high rank and stay well equipped to face enemies that become harder to deal with toward the end of the game.
The author himself tagged me on his social media regarding the first video I made. I thanked him and he replied that he based the difficulty on the NES. I didn't have many opportunities to play NES games and if I did play any, I don't remember anymore hahaha 👨. So it's expected to be a challenging game. That said, I replayed it again without recording anything and at my own pace. Calmly, I went through the stages without difficulty up to Stage 7 and on Stage 8 I ended up dying only a few times compared to when I recorded the gameplay.
I managed to get Rank S in all of them, except for the Bonus, which doesn't appear in the image above. The change I noticed was that the star on the title screen changed from gold, the first time I finished the game, to silver now and 2 of the 4 remaining artworks that were locked after clearing the game the first time were unlocked. I don't know if they are unlocked if I clear the game a third time.

Now, onto the anime... and lots of anime D:
Golden Kamuy, even in serious situations, they manage to add touches of comedy. The plan didn't go as expected to capture the assassin, everyone ended up splitting up.
Shibou Yuugi, a minefield, it reminded me of a Windows game. It seems this anime will go back and forth in time showing the games the protagonist went through. It will be interesting to see her personality change over time or how she became the way she was in the first episode after so many games.
Jujutsu Kaisen, I was as confused as the protagonist with the explanation, I think I'll need to rewatch it later @.@ .
Sentenced to Be a Hero, if he needed the goddess to defeat the plague, how is he going to win without one? I think she'll appear at the last moment and save him.
Sousou no Frieren, apparently, you can't win every battle...
Gnosia, first time with all participants, I hope the truth is revealed in this game... That's what the previous episode suggested, but nothing yet...
Trigun, thankfully it didn't take long for him to regain consciousness. I hope the main group meets up in the next episodes and it's a shame that Vash couldn't save another life.

Today I couldn't finish the three 700 m running laps, but I did go to the gym as usual. I was very discouraged today and ended up making only 1 frame for today 😔.
Monster3_3, Hornet, this time I included a comparison with the Monster using a human of average height in the RTP VXP style. A common insect wouldn't appear on screen and this Monster is already quite large when compared to the RTP VX Ace style. So I decided to make only the Battler VX version and in the Battler VX Ace version I only changed the colors to better match the Battler and because of the color palette. If I did the same thing I did for the Slime, I think it would end up too large, maybe it would become useful as a Boss Hornet 🤔.

A very rainy morning 🌧 ... no training 😑

Instead of writing and constantly taking screenshots of the gameplay, I thought about using my YouTube channel again to release the gameplays. It's more practical, I don't need to pause all the time, and it's better than describing every single detail. This time it will be a game I really wanted to play, but unfortunately the software or engine it was made with was specific to the East, so errors happened when trying to launch it because the Windows locale didn't recognize the changes between "." and ",". However, the developer released a version on the Godot Engine and I ended up postponing the gameplay, so much so that it has already received a few updates 😅.
I died so many times on Stages 5 and 6... I almost gave up... the video was over an hour and a half long, I had to chop it all up and removed my many deaths on Stage 6... 😭
Game: 砂漠の国の冒険記~アルと地底の迷宮~[ Adventures in Sandland*: Al and the Underground Labyrinth ]
Author: 瀬加井 勇 (爛漫堂) / Isamu Sekai (RANMANDO)
Available [Version 2.10]: http://ww5.tiki.ne.jp/~ranmando/sandland/index.htm
*Name of site is Sandland, so, I thinking adaptation of "Desert Kingdom" or "Desert Country" for Sandland sounds better, for me. If that's wrong, edit later.

Gnosia, the episodes are now focused on each character, it looks like the season will take a while to end...
To Your Eternity, these last episodes have been very interesting, debating life and why some people wish to give up living even with so many things available, but unfortunately it's a cruel world where certain material goods and services are far from being accessible to many of those people who think about giving up.
Spy x Family, I hadn't commented on the latest episode, but before its premiere I ended up going to Shueisha's Manga Plus and read the rest of the arc that the anime adapts and a bit more, which made me even more excited for new chapters. Since I'm reading the manga, I'll stop commenting because of spoilers.
The problem with seasonal anime releases following the seasons of the year is that new interesting ones always appear, like Sentenced to Be a Hero and other long awaited continuations, making the cycle of watching anime series or live action shows endless 😅. Speaking of real people, I watched the latest season of Stranger Things and honestly, I didn't like it. I was expecting a well made series conclusion, but it felt like they didn't respect the very rules of the world they created during the great previous seasons.

Since I already posted the Horse because of the Riding set, I'll continue with the Animal set. Because the animals are reduced or have a Chibi like appearance due to the 32x32 frame of the set, I had to adjust some sizes, such as the width of their heads and their length as well. Like the Butterfly, I tried to add detail to the black color following the reference of a real blue Butterfly. I ended up adding the bell to the cow and other changes to differentiate it... maybe I'll remove these detail later.

Goodbye Alien Dobermann! 👽💥🔫🦹‍♀️

Merry Christmas! Yes, I'm quite early, about a week ahead. I hadn't planned these sprites for the 25th of this month, so I ended up posting them earlier. Actually, it's because I'm considering taking a break from the internet between the 22nd of this month and the 3rd of next month, some people call it a detox, I just call it giving my mind a rest ha ha ha.
Anyway, I wish you happy holidays this Christmas and at the turn of the year to 2026. Enjoy getting together with your family and friends, the older we get, the harder it is to gather everyone... Oh, I almost forgot, tomorrow is Friday and I still have my last post of 2025.

I went back to playing today and wow, what a huge Map 01. It's full of destructible walls with dark holes in them, many paths that feel like labyrinths. If I try to guide myself by the yellow map, I get lost, I need to press Start all the time to be sure where I'm going.
In Stage 04, there are three new enemies, the alien dog that looks like a doberman, a blue silhouette that throws grenades and an alien that, when it shoots you, reduces your speed, increasing the danger and forcing even more caution. There's also a new weapon, Snoman, which is the Flamethrower from the previous game.
I found a not very inviting door and an elevator to the north of the map and at the far east of the map an incredible train with the alien's underground city in the background. The textures are amazing, such a shame that there was never a complete version of the prototype. I took some screenshots to show below.
The train is accessible and must take you somewhere, but instead of taking it, I'm going to take the elevator to the north.

The elevator takes me to Map 02. Here the map is smaller and has more rooms with doors. I found a new weapon similar to the Flamethrower, but with the cool name Fire Dragon. After exploring the whole map, I only found another train. Instead of going back to Map 01, I'll take this train.

It drops me off at Map 03. I explore the map, killing all enemies, opening secret passages with ammo and equipment, then move on to the next train.
Now on Map 04, this place is infested with alien dogs, especially in closed rooms. Since I found a Bullet Proof Vest in the central room to the west, I took advantage of it and used the Rocket Launcher after open every door. This weapon is way too strong, but it damages you. After clearing everything, I went to restore my protection and headed to the train again.
Now on Map 05, there's a new weapon called Gunrock, it's a grenade launcher. If I pick it up, my Grenade ammo disappears and it only holds 10 rounds of Gunrock ammo, but it has the advantage of launching grenades far away, whereas throwing them by hand requires backing off to avoid taking damage. Here I find an elevator at the south of the map. I try to go through it, but there's a bug when going to Map 08 that throws me outside the map limits. It's like an error in a teleport event from one map to another in RPG Maker. So I go back to the train again.

The train then takes me back to Map 02.
In other words, its route is 02 ➡ 03 ➡ 04 ➡ 05 (bugged elevator to 08) ➡ 02.
That makes me go to Map 01 and take the other train, which leads me to Map 06. I ended up picking up one of the Flamethrowers, I should have taken it earlier. It's really worth using here against many enemies. After exploring Map 06, I went to the train.
It took me to Map 07. I had difficulties here, at this point in the stage I was already running low on ammo. After exploring the whole map, I entered an elevator and went through it, but it throws me into another Map 07 at the limits of the game. So I decide to go back to the train, but it takes me to Map 01. That is, this line is 01 ➡ 06 ➡ 07 (bugged elevator to another Map 07?) ➡ 01.
When trying to restart, I accidentally triggered the stage results screen, just press A, B and C at the same time on the map screen or during pause.

So we're stuck in this stage. If I knew how to access the game files, I might try to fix some of these bugs during the stages I mentioned. I even searched the internet to see if someone had done something like that and released modifications or passwords for all the maps, but no luck.
Crazy as always, I decided to go through the elevator that leads to Map 08. When trying to jump between maps, the character takes damage, so I let her die, chose another character, and then returned to Map 08, managing to move around it with the same weapons, but unfortunately outside the map. It's unfinished, and if I go to the far west, I suddenly get teleported to a closed room in the west where there’s a red X in the image, full of enemies and some items on the ground.

I decided to play the first build to recall the differences... There are some differences in the maps, like enemies outside the map, making it impossible to kill all enemies in Stage 01, differences in item placement on the ground and Stage 03 doesn't exist, from 02 we go straight to 04, with poor color palettes, red silhouette enemies and invisible enemies that throw grenades...
There's also Zero Tolerance Underground or Subway. I played, it's just one stage with nine maps. There's even an animated train passing through the station in the first map, but it doesn't work the same way as in Beyond, entering the train there takes you to other maps, which doesn't happen in Underground. The enemies and weapons are the same as in the original, the difference is the map structure and the wall textures to resemble a subway. They also increased the game's difficulty by making the worst weapon in the original the main one, a light tap of the fire button can result in two or three shots, wasting ammo, forcing constant resupply, accuracy is poor and they increased the game speed, making it harder to hit enemies and causing you to take a lot of damage quickly from just a few enemies.

It was a long playthrough of what could have become a franchise. So, to "record the achievement" of completing Zero Tolerance + Underground and almost Beyond Zero Tolerance, I decided to make pixel art of them, the characters I chose to complete the missions in both games.
I couldn't find concept art to create them, so I used references from their ID photos, the hands and legs shown in game and the final image from the first game. By the way, I didn't know this, but it was possible to play cooperatively with another Sega Genesis/Mega Drive via cable and the companion sprite that appears is the same sprite as the enemies in our corporation building who wear green and brown military uniforms.

People8_5~8, I decided to put all three together in one post, since they represent Christmas. It's strange to think that the RTP VX Ace has such a modern Character set for a medieval fantasy theme.
For Noel's design, I decided to add more detail, giving him visible eyes, a hat with dithering, gloves, a belt and black boots to create better contrast between the colors, the original has too much red.
For the Reindeer Costume, I wanted to enhance its texture and colors, I think I did a good job.
Santa Lady, this one seems special to the original author, I understand. The design followed the original with small differences in the white details of the outfit.

An underground base! 👽💥🔫👷‍♀️

Getting back to the game, I intend to finish playing it this time.
Those white silhouette enemies eventually become fast, I lost a lot of the Bullet Proof Vest's percentage because of them. The female aliens fight hand to hand, so they're not hard to defeat.
While exploring the map, there were still 7 enemies left the counter, so there's probably some hidden passage. But the textures make it hard for me to find where it is,they're very similar, and the breakable texture where we start the stage didn't show any cracks or other details to distinguish it from the others. After searching a lot, I managed to find it and kill the remaining 7.
There's only 1 elevator on this map.

When I use the elevator, I go to map 03,where's 02!? The elevator reminds me of the previous game where the handrail was red. Here, the counter no longer shows how many enemies there are, so I had to explore the map manually. I took a screenshot of the female looking alien up close and another of a new red weapon on the ground. When you pick it up, it's labeled Lazer and has the same image as another weapon, but the message that appears is actually for the Laser Aimed Gun and the weapon image in the character's hand is also the same as in the previous game.
In Zero Tolerance it was a pretty bad weapon that the robots in stage 2 dropped when they died. I haven't tested it yet to see if it's better here. Before choosing which elevator to use, I spend some time trying to find hidden areas on the map.
I found a room that led to another elevator,it was to be expected that the devs would do something like this,so I decided to explore map 03 even more. After finding another hidden room and shooting at all the walls, I chose the elevator directly facing the one I arrived at on map 03 and ended up on map 08, counting 99 or more enemies...
I almost died here many times. It was thanks to patience and the absurd number of med kits on the map. It's very symmetrical, at first I thought it was already the boss area. After clearing the map and killing the enemies, there were still 20 enemies left. I searched for secret passages and didn’t find any, maybe they're accessible via another elevator.
I return to map 03 and take the other elevator to the south, going to map 05. Here the environments are very large, and the white enemies are the hardest to deal with,I almost died. After killing all visible enemies, there were 4 left on the counter, so I did the same search, shooting every wall until I found a corridor and a room to the north with the Bio Scanner. I take the elevator at the north of the map and arrive at map 06.
Map 06 has 2 corridors and several rooms full of enemies. I killed them cautiously to avoid taking too much damage. At the end, I find the next elevator, which takes me to map 07.
Map 07 has larger areas, which makes it harder to kill the white silhouette enemies. Little by little, I kill them all while exploring the map and the secret areas, then I go to the elevator at the far west of the map, which takes me to map 09.

On map 09, which looks like a boss map, I find a new weapon in a secret room to the south, the Rocket Launcher in its alien version. There are cocoons to the west of the map that release aliens when destroyed, and plenty of medkits available. Were all the separate insects the boss? The Rocket Launcher is very powerful. After using it and clearing this map, I didn't find any sign of an elevator, so I decided to go back to that secret elevator on map 03 to the north.

As I had read the description of the video I mentioned earlier, I knew that if I entered the secret elevator, it would skip map 04 and go to another map that is bugged or unfinished, which would consequently crash the game. So I acted quickly and jumped to map 04 before the elevator fully descended.

Map 04 is small, and a new weapon appears there, a red disc on the ground. The first thing I thought of was some kind of mine, and indeed it was the Mine from the previous game. If I go back using the elevator, instead of going up to map 03, it goes down and crashes the game again. Since I had saved before descending to map 04, I then return to the save and head toward where we started on map 01, entering the secret passage to finish this stage and move on to the next.
Stage 03 was very difficult. Among the maps, map 02 was missing, probably the map that crashes the game after map 04. It was almost 4 hours, it took longer than I expected. I almost discovered all 13 secrets, far from reaching the 521 enemies killed, all because of those white silhouette enemies, they gave me a lot of trouble and all of them in this stage need to take 2 hits to die.
I would start stage 04, but I'll leave it for tomorrow, this took me a lot of time.

People8_3&People8_4,these are the children who ate too much cake, according to the description of the original post. I'd add that they also ate the cookies and milk that the parents left for Noel when he visits homes to deliver presents...

Cleaning up the factory! 👽💥🔫👩‍🏭

I couldn't wait too long and decided to play again, since I knew I couldn't get past the second stage and there was no more content in this build that I had read about.
We start in a new environment, completely different and large with its many rooms. I took screenshots below on the initial map 01. Since there's no introduction for the new mission in the second stage, I was wondering what kind of place this could be, it could be a factory because of the textures?
Here, the enemies change. They are these gray silhouettes resembling humans used as "placeholders" until the devs create final art and animation. They leave Rifle ammo on the ground and are dangerous at a distance. I lost a percentage of the bulletproof vest, as you can see. There's only one elevator as a way to proceed.

I arrive at map 02, where a new silhouette appears, in green, but it doesn't seem to shoot. I only noticed that if they get too close, I lose the Buligun, they steal ammo from me or maybe their attack mechanic hasn't been implemented yet? They are fast, reminding me of the alien dogs from the previous game. It's important to be cautious in this stage, across all maps. Here, a new weapon appears, the Lazer. It has the same skin as the Pulselaser from the previous game and the same quality. It seems rare in this phase, so I'll save it to fight the Boss.
After identifying the possible elevators in map 02, there are four paths in total, one to the north, one to the west, one to the south and one in the center of the map. Since we came from the east, I decide to go to the center, the closest one. This leads me back to map 01 in a different, smaller, closed area in the south of map 01.

So, I return to map 02 via the central elevator, then go to the southern elevator, reaching another large section to the east of map 01, with an elevator to the north. Fearing I might leave something behind in the elevators of map 02, I go back and head for the western elevator. On map 03, I decide to explore it all and go all the way to the end before returning. This is where another item appears, the Flashlight, which is very helpful compared to the previous game, as you can see below.

Leaving map 03, I reach map 05, which turns out to be a huge map with long corridors and wide rooms.
Other items appear here, like the Night Vision, which is more of a hindrance than a help in this stage and finally, 2 Bullet Proof Vests. I spent a lot of time on map 05. I found only one elevator in the north of the map and decided to keep going forward instead of returning, as I did in the eastern part of map 01.
Upon taking the elevator, I end up in map 06, which to my surprise, was the only map completely empty of enemies and with a strange design, making me believe that inside that square room with two entrances or exits, there would be another Boss or the map was simply unfinished, because it didn't even have any enemies. So, I return to map 02.

On the way back, in some maps, I noticed a crack that reaches the floor and I also noticed that the enemy counter sometimes increased and sometimes decreased. I thought, the counter shouldn't be bugged, but it might be sensing the presence of life or nearby enemies.
So, when I shot one of these cracks, a secret room was revealed and in other cracks, there were corridors leading to other rooms with enemies. Most of these secret areas have ammo for the best weapons in the game, so they are essential for players to avoid difficulties.
Finally, after returning to map 02, I went south, where I had come from map 01, leaving behind the elevator that would take me to map 04. There is no other way to go from there, so I return to map 02 and finally take the last elevator in the north of the map, which leads me to a small location in map 03.

I'm not sure if I missed anything in the maps because I discovered the crack later or if map 06, being empty, was supposed to have the unimplemented Boss in the prototype.
I decided to look it up and found a YouTube video titled "Beyond Zero Tolerance | Sega Genesis | New Prototype (Jul 14, 1995)". In the description, he explains the lack of the Boss in stage 02, but it seems there's more content, including two more stages. He named stage 02 "Base on an alien planet". And by watching his video, I discovered that the destructible walls in stage 01 have this rectangular detail in the texture. Also, when throwing grenades in the Boss room in stage 02 on map 06, a dead body appears and then it transitions to a new stage.
Obviously, I'm going to try this and... I didn't succeed. The enemy appeared and seemed to be the first red one from stage 01 but with a different color palette.
I believe this YouTuber must have accessed the game's internal files and discovered the passwords for all the maps to reach the other stages of this prototype, because after the 5:18 mark of the video, he starts in stage 03 with little ammo, which makes me think this is the case. In stage 03, there are female aliens as enemies, a white silhouette and cocoons that release small aliens when shot at. Could this be a reference to the Alien franchise? These textures are completely intriguing, looking like a base underground inside caves. I was really excited to play until I saw that the devs left shortcuts at the beginning of each map in every stage to test them, I imagine. So, I decide to return to the beginning in stage 02 and go back to map 01.

I had lost hope, I should've watched the full video, but I wanted to be surprised by exploring the maps and stages myself :P. Back at the start, I shot, entered and the result was... 200 enemies. The stage is unfinished in map 06. If one invisible enemy appeared due to one grenade, then probably more would have appeared if I kept throwing grenades. But the problem is that, depending on the space, the grenade causes me damage too. I wasted all this time because of the returns I made and attempts to pass the stage. Now, I'll go to stage 03, well equipped, with a new map 01.
I'll leave this stage 03 for tomorrow.

This People was for the December commemorative date, for Christmas 2008 on the official Tkool Blog.
People8_1, since Christmas is portrayed as cold and snowy, I tried to give this character an outfit like a fur coat for winter. His villainous appearance gives the impression that he's ready to ruin Christmas. Will he steal the children's presents?
Person8_2, I've always wondered how women don't feel cold wearing short clothes. Where I live, it's amazing how this happens, I don't know how it is in other countries. Anyway, for her, I tried to give her outfit a linear sheen, trying a latex texture and making the outfit tight to her body. While the previous character would hinder Noel, she could be the villain of Santa Lady.

It's time for the rematch, REVENGE! 👽💥🔫👩‍🚀

On Saturday, I didn't train because of my knee. It's been a while since I played anything, so I decided to play what would be the sequel to "Zero Tolerance", the prototype "Beyond Zero Tolerance".

I don't know if I had mentioned that it has two builds, the one I knew was 062395a, if I'm not mistaken released by own developer.
However, it seems that a few years ago someone went to an auction or a used retro game store and found what would be a newer, more updated build with a bit more content, 071395a. Both numbers refer to dates written in the English format, month first, then day and finally the year. So they would be June 23, 1995 and July 13, 1995 respectively.
I decided to play the latter, because I remember the first build having unbalanced difficulty that killed me very quickly, causing the characters to die to enemies. If you want to try it, look for Hidden Palace and the name of the game.

The most noticeable differences at first glance are the music on the title screen, only the first build has the mission introduction showing the alien's Floating Fortress in the background image. Yes, we are seeking revenge for the alien's invasion of Earth, now it's our turn to visit their planet, which seems to be called Dusk.
The characters are almost the same. In the previous game I played as Captain Satoe Ishii and she does not continue in the sequel, so I chose the new female character in the group, Kirsten Holsted.

We start with a new weapon, the Buligun. It is the equivalent of the Handgun in the previous game. I think it's not possible to pick it up on the map, only from dead red aliens and its range is not very good against other types of aliens later in the stage.
In the image below there are these openings showing a bit of what the alien's planet looks like. In the next image there are some kinds of structures on certain walls that, if you shoot them, the aliens are released. I recommend that before shooting these walls, you stand right next to one of the walls, because that way you don't give them the chance for one to go left and another to go right. I learned this the hard way by taking some damage.
In the other two images below, I quickly found the elevator in the lower right corner of the map, but I want to do the same thing as in the previous game, clear the floors by killing all enemies. On the map image, I have three extra slots, where there is, for example, the Bulletproof Vest and two more empty slots. This is a great improvement, because these support items ended up interfering with the five slots that could be used only for weapons in the previous game.
On map 01, the start of the game, there are three different elevators. I decided to go to the elevator to the west of the map and leave the two elevators in the south of the map for later.

From map 01, I go to map 06. I don't know if the numbering in the map names follows a correct order of floors, since from 06 it decreases to 05, 04...
Here on 06, some purple aliens start to appear, very hard to deal with, because their damage is ranged and depending on the angle or position you're in, it's hard to see them on the screen with the purple textures, requiring the help of the little red dot on the radar. When you kill them, they drop ammo for a new weapon, the Rifle. It's a good weapon, it reminds me of the Shotgun from the previous game, it hits at a good distance and was a one-hit kill on common enemies. However, since it really works like a rifle, it's not a spread shot like a shotgun, it requires precision and good aim.
Another thing that bothered me in this game was the character's turning/aiming speed, you can overshoot if you press the directional pad just a little too much. Speaking of red dots as enemies on the map, here there are also blue dots, they are Medical Kits to recover the character's health, and all maps are quite generous with the quantity. I went through maps 06, 05, 04 and then followed to map 08, strange order...

On map 08, I start on the far left side of the map in the image below. I forgot to comment that on every new map we must explore it to reveal the rest of the complete map. That makes total sense to me, since we are in never before explored enemy territory. This also increases the tension, because at any moment I can be surprised by the enemy.
Here the environment changes and we no longer have a ceiling, which made me think, are we at the top? Will I face a Boss right now? But no, there were several enemies spread across an open map. However, I started noticing some game design patterns, the wide map, many resources evenly spread and on the far right side of the map there was this huge room with exits. I immediately thought it would be the Boss of the stage and that we would fight it in the open map outside that room.
Instead of going in, I decided to go back all those floors until I reached map 01 and then follow one of the paths to the south of it. My goal is still to eliminate all possible enemies on each stage. But unfortunately, to my bad luck, during my descent through the maps, in one of the elevators of the maps I had already cleared, the screen froze. Yes, the game froze. I don't know if it was because I was running and a bug happened because of that, or if the fact that I had already passed through the map and was returning caused some error in the prototype’s code. This discouraged me from trying again from scratch, so I decided to leave it to play later or on Sunday.

In the afternoon I decided to watch a summary of Chainsaw Man to see the movie The Reze Arc. I didn't remember the events of the season and didn't want to waste time rewatching everything again. The desire to see the movie spoke louder, I admit hehe. I already liked the work since the manga, when I read a few chapters before the first animated season. Now, with this movie, it was incredible, very well constructed, well animated, the story develops very well and gives more motivation to continue the manga. But I want to hold back to see the continuation in animation, whether in another movie or episodes. I can't stand having to wait for another season of Spy x Family anymore, when this one ends, I think I'll go to the manga as well on Shueisha MANGA Plus, like I did with Dandadan.

Boku no Hero, so the young boy was actually a new character just to demonstrate that society will also play its role in helping people beyond the heroes. This closing episode showed a bit of everything, a brief past of Midoriya, a new cycle beginning with new youngsters, peace reigning and the future of the main characters, some had more spotlight than others. The moment I saw Midoriya with the briefcase getting out of the car reminded me of Iron Man 2, the Marvel hero without powers. I liked the new designs, after 8 years, in adult life, this change is necessary. The world of this work has a lot of content to create and explore, a more detailed past of All for One, or even the current future of some characters working as superheroes. For example, the anime takes place only in Japan, what about other countries? The threat of All for One in the last episodes was escalating to something global, since countries were so afraid of one individual that they didn't send help and the many absurd powers he had were capable of destroying huge areas... So I wonder, could the work raise the threat level with another villain? Make this supposed new villain more feared and impactful than All for One was? I think it's difficult. I have the feeling that he was the final boss, the one that takes hours to defeat, requiring a lot of strategy and resources like in RPG games. Finally, is over. I don't plan to watch spin offs or continuations, I lack the time and motivation to follow long-running anime. I never felt like starting One Piece because of that.
To Your Eternity, achei o Fushi frouxo nessa luta, mas felizmente foi um bom episódio explicando o passado da mãe e como os Nokkers estão se organizando no subsolo. Me deixou interessado novamente para o próximo episódio.
Spy x Family, aaaaaaaaaaah, I want to know more!!! Now the mission's risk feels very real. For me it was the best of the season, after the bus kidnapping episodes. The ending, the bodyguard of Becky, she looked like a walking Pokédex haha.
Gnosia, wow, he ended up in a cycle where he's a woman hahaha, got a very well upgrade at the front. Jokes aside, it was an interesting episode too, advancing the story.

On Sunday, I decided to replay. I followed the same steps as Saturday, but instead of running when returning to the elevators, I went slowly and the freezing error did not happen. So now heading south of map 01, I go to the left elevator. There I go to map 03, where there are many enemies on the walls, it's good to follow the tip of staying close to the nearby wall.
After clearing the area, I go to another elevator on map 03 to map 07, where the number of enemies is greater. I almost died, but this stage is generous and I quickly recovered my health.

Since map 07 has no more elevators, I return to map 01 to take the southern right elevator. I arrive at map 02, which has a more symmetrical map design and also plenty of Buligun ammo and medical kits, but many enemies with Rifle, which also almost led me to death. I finish clearing the map, and since this one also has no elevators, I return to map 01 to go back to the Boss map of the stage. However, when passing through maps 06 and 05, in the image below I notice an error? Maybe something secret? I don't know, because the maps seem to have changed, as if there were something extra in these empty parts beyond the gray walls on the map screen.
I tried to investigate by shooting and throwing bombs, but none of that revealed anything secret, so I headed to map 08, once again facing the properly symmetrical doors.

When I opened the door, I came face to face with the Boss. I got startled, tried to take a screenshot, and ended up taking damage. With the Rifle, you can easily defeat it, because the impact of the shot makes it move backward. So you just keep shooting the Boss nonstop until a small explosion happens on its chest and it falls to the ground...
So was it an armor, or are the aliens mechanical beings in this game!? To my surprise, after defeating it, the screen below appears, something I always wished existed in the previous game. I was surprised that I couldn't kill all the aliens and missed secrets of the maps in this stage. A difference of 59 enemies is a lot. So I thought that some textures on the maps might reveal passages. I didn't get to test shooting all of them, worried about ammo, since I had never played this build before.
I also hadn't mentioned earlier that the enemy counter on the left side doesn't work very well, because it doesn't count these hidden enemies or those inside the walls that require you to shoot the walls for the enemy to come out. I'm considering looking for these secrets, but I need to know if they're actually accessible, since this is a prototype game. After this stage result screen, I end up in another stage with a completely different environment and no introductory screen for the new mission, but I decided to play it another day.

If you want to go straight to the Boss of this stage, you should follow this route:
Start Map 01 ➡ Upper west elevator ➡ Pass through Maps 06, 05, 04 and 08, the Boss

Today I went to the gym, did my whole workout routine and decided to run on the treadmill this time. I didn't feel any pain, but I was worried about overdoing the running, so I ran only a little.

People7_3&7, same case as the previous ones. I leave the second recolor a bit chubbier to differentiate it from the first recolor and I didn't like this one’s red palette, I need more red in my palette.
People7_4&8, this would be the elderly male version of People6_4&8, but they don't look that old to me. They don't even have wrinkles.

Gunfire, punches and explosions! 👽💥🔫👮‍♀️

On Saturday, I woke up again at 5:00 in the morning and went swimming. Since the water was warm and the sun was very strong, I couldn't swim more than 4,250 meters. Three thousand were in sets of 100 meters, one thousand in 20 sets of 50 meters and the last 250 meters were 5 sets of 50 meters. The gym was closed and I even tried doing a few reps on the pull up bar outside the gym, but I was too tired to do… At night, I watched anime episodes while eating popcorn.
Boku no Hero, The episode was good. I was sure he would solve the problem with Tomura, but nope, All for One reappears. About his memories and the revelations from the past, I already suspected that All for One manipulated Tomura's life. I was surprised by the loss of the arms, but Eri appeared at the beginning of the season, didn't she? That would be the famous "MacGuffin".
To Your Eternity, I'll just say I found the episode weird... 😣
Spy x Family, I liked the episode, they still haven't solved the problem with the kidnappers. The funny faces the characters make in the anime are hilarious,  the anime itself is very funny, a kidnapping situation with comedy.
Gnosia, The voice actor of the new character with the hat is the same one who voices the god in To Your Eternity :O. This time there were 12 participants and 3 Gnosias, they added the Guardian Angel authority to the "game". In the next one there will be a dolphin wearing a spacesuit and it looks like there are still 3 characters left the ending all episode shows all the crew members of that ship.

On Sunday morning, I decided to finish playing the third and final stage of Zero Tolerance. In the Sub-Basement levels, I had forgotten that this was where the labyrinths and scares begin.
Since they're corridors upon corridors with many doors, I had to walk with extra caution not to get surprised and I did, I ran into 8 enemies at once after opening a door in a room near the elevator to another level. Up until then, the first three levels had lots of ammo. The fire extinguisher I'd been carrying since the previous stage ended up being useful later on and there were others to refill it.
In level 3 the "big fingers aliens" started showing up, I call them that because of the way they were drawn, their fingers stick out in front of the sprite, making it look like they have big fingers and they attack melee. One thing I noticed was that the Rocket Launcher was getting in my way in tight spots, since I'd take damage too. The Bullet Proof Vest protected me when I tested the weapon. I messed up and could've collected many Handguns from infected humans in levels 1 and 2 while restocking the Shotgun ammo spread across those levels.
From level 5 onward, the scenery starts to change, it looks like I'm inside a "hive", with hexagonal wall textures. As you can see, I was almost out of ammo, I had just enough to finish off all enemies in level 5. I had to go back through many levels where I didn't pick up Shotgun and Pulse Laser ammo to refill everything again before moving on to level 6, another maze, as you can see.
After restocking, it wasn't hard to eliminate enemies, but the fear persisted because the enemy counter on the left side of the screen only counts up to 99. It didn't go down immediately when I killed some enemies, meaning there were more enemies than the counter could track. And since each weapon's ammo cap is 99, I had to make sure I could beat my own challenge of clearing all levels/maps of this stage without wasting ammo. However, in levels 6, 7, 8 onward, ammo started appearing again throughout the map, which was a relief.
The walls that were previously green and hive-like were now red and the layout of level 8 resembled the corridors of the previous building stage, with long hallways unlike the other maps. Here, they provided plenty of Flamethrower ammo to burn the aliens, so I used that to save ammo from the other weapons in my inventory. Some aliens fired from a distance and the ammo they dropped upon dying was Hand Grenades, more useful than the Rocket Launcher in closed environments. From level 9 onward, it looked like the walls were... dripping blood?
Now from level 10 onward, the floor was probably stained with blood. The second-to-last level, level 11, had the most symmetrical map layout I'd ever seen, resembling some of the maps from the first stage, Space Station. I wasted some time there because I forgot to go through one of the dead-end hallways and because of that, one alien was left. But after running across the whole map, I ended up bumping into it, leaving me with just the final level against the Boss. It felt like an eternity to get there, more enemies, scarce resources, and lots of corridors and paths that can confuse you or lure several enemies toward you.
When using the elevator, I was surprised to see the counter showing more than 1 enemy, I didn't remember there being enemies besides the stage Boss on the same level. It seemed obvious that the big one would be at the center of the map, so with that in mind, I walked around the edges of the map counterclockwise, eliminating enemies one by one. I didn't want any of them interrupting my fight against the last Boss on the same level. It seemed obvious that the big one would be at the center of the map, so with that in mind, I walked around the edges of the map counterclockwise, eliminating enemies one by one. I didn't want any of them interrupting my fight against the last Boss. Each lap I made, I closed in the circle a little more. There were only two enemies left near the Boss, I managed to get away and kill the smaller ones, leaving just 1 on the counter, the Boss himself. Only then was it possible to use the Rocket Launcher I had been saving since the start of stage 2 in the building, along the long extreme hallways. It took me a while to defeat him, he was fast and started shooting from far away. I even lost my entire Bullet Proof Vest and some HP. I thought I was going to die, but I held on and killed the last invading alien.
This is the final screen, after this text, the credits roll, finish and the game returns to the Start menu to begin from scratch. By the way, the spinning SEGA logo fits the atmosphere of the game perfectly. For my childhood, it was an excellent game and it made me replay it many times, like this year, but I had never registered for myself that I had defeated every enemy in every map of all 3 stages, not even the game itself tracks that. It would be interesting if the new Collection, which brings a stage with additional canceled levels for the SEGA-CD called "Underground", and the never-released prototype, had extras like: a kill counter, a timer to finish the gameplay, and if finishing with one character in single-player prevented choosing them in the next run. If they had something similar to when a character dies and can't be used anymore, I'd probably try beating the game with all of them, just out of curiosity to see what extra content might show up. It's a shame it didn't get enough success to become a solid franchise today. There's a YouTube user recreating the stages with modern graphics and smoother gameplay, just search the name of the game and add "remake".

I received a commission request for a CharSet in RPG Maker 2000/2003 style. I've been working with VXP larger sprites for a while and it felt strange again to go back to the limited 24x32 frames, it's really hard to make detailed human/small characters that way *🤏.

There were heavy rains in the city over the weekend and apparently the gym had to close today because of it. Knowing that, on Sunday I used this morning to wake up a bit later and get ahead on the commission I received. It rained all day, even into the evening when I was studying and reviewing my work...

People1_6 and People5_6 👩 follow the same direction as the previous one, their clothes are similar with differences in the hair and, in this case, the headscarf. This time I'm seriously considering keeping the sprite bodies from the outer and using the heads from the center sprites. The center designs seem too thin, while the Character design does not.

Is killing alien dogs wrong? 👽🐕💥🔫👩‍✈️

Unfortunately, it rained around 5:20 AM on Saturday. I had already woken up at 4:30 AM to make my coffee, scramble some eggs, pack my backpack, and change clothes ahead of time for the event that was supposed to start at 6:00 AM. I was really disappointed when they had to cancel it because of the thunder, even though it wasn't that bad and by 6:10 AM, the rain has already slowed down and there was no more thunder. Since I had already eaten, drank my coffee mixed with cinnamon, cocoa powder, honey and taken my creatine, I couldn't fall back asleep. To shake off the frustration, I decided to play a bit more Zero Tolerance, continuing from where I left off last week.

I think I missed a secret room inside Floor 163. I remembered there were cameras with alarms on this floor of the building, when the alarms went off, doors would open and enemies would rush you, which was risky. So I destroyed the cameras from a distance. But when I reached the far south of the map, I found a completely sealed room... too late.

Honestly, that building level wasn’t hard. It was really easy to find shotgun ammo on every floor and the robots weren't that tough either. I even used the Laser Aimed Gun they drop when they die, but it's not very accurate and takes a lot of shots to bring down the enemy robots. The only real trouble I had was with an infected human enemy who threw a grenade, but since I was wearing a vest, I was protected and didn't let them get close again. The maps have wide spaces, so you just need to move slowly and take them out one by one. The dogs, they went down easily with a shotgun from a distance. I stockpiled the Rocket Launcher up to Floor 151 to fight the boss, after clearing the maps, I collected a total of 60 rockets and only used 10 on the boss, leaving 50 for the next stage in the Sub-Basement. However, I ended up losing my bulletproof vest, which is a very important item. Even so, I was well-equipped with 99 Pulse Laser, 50 Rocket Launcher, 60% Fire Extinguisher, 99 Shotgun and 6 Handgun rounds, thanks to the character's unique ability to use handgun ammo and her superior firearm skill compared to the others on the character select screen.

The 2nd phase was quick. I could’ve continued playing the Sub-Basement, but I'll leave that for next week. I woke up early and had breakfast really early, so I got hungry again before lunch. I also need to review my studies, it's good to keep things balanced. I don’t want to spend the whole day gaming or binge-watching series and even doing pixel art all day can get exhausting. So I try to divide my day with different activities to avoid burnout.

On Sunday, I got up later. I wanted to stay in bed longer but couldn't. Since it rained through the night and early morning, my sleep was great. I caught up on some anime series like I usually do on weekends.
Boku no Hero, It felt like a final episode, but it wasn't. It was one of those episodes where the side characters reminisce about moments with the protagonist from previous seasons. There are so many characters in this universe, some I barely remembered. The animation is still excellent and the story is quite different. The anime keeps delivering great fights and memorable scenes between various characters. I wouldn't mind if the ending went in a different direction instead of relying on the usual display of overwhelming powers and massive explosions.
Spy x Family, Great setup for the next episode! I feel like the story is progressing and getting closer to the Desmonds. It's already the third season, so the characters and their story arcs need to evolve.
To Your Eternity, So they became too small to be noticed, yet they still seem to have traces of evil. Also, Mizuha attacked her mother, so she definitely has a Nokker inside her. If Fushi lays eggs, would the offspring be natural? Since he copies the genetics of objects and beings, I think so.
Gnosia, A cat passing through a guy’s neck, never thought I'd see a design like that. This anime is really unique. They even added a "Doctor" role to the game, I mean, anime. A story with time loops really needs fresh ideas to keep us entertained.
The Long Walk, That’s right... a movie among the anime list. I felt like watching something with real actors for a change and I'd seen the trailer for this movie a while ago, it caught my interest. I liked how it was put together, the situations each participant faces, their struggles, their personalities and the actor's performances. From what I read online, the ending is different in the movie than in the original book. I read the book's ending and between the two, I preferred the movie, it felt more satisfying. I think I'd have done the same.

Starting the week going to the gym, I struggled a bit. Maybe I didn't eat enough dinner last night, or maybe it's the lack of sleep... or perhaps the days I skipped workouts to rest before the event that didn’t even happen. I'm not sure, but I was feeling unmotivated and ended up skipping my run. I'll wait to see if the swimming event happens this Saturday,  if not, I'll go back to doing two workouts in the morning, one after the other. After the gym, I worked and studied until night.

Since last week was so busy and tight, I almost lost motivation to continue with the redesigns and palette adjustments for a few days. So I decided to switch to the People sets, since they only have Face/Bust and Character as design variations, it might give me a little boost to stay on track until I finish them. I started with People1_1 and People5_1, the Boy👦, unlike other RTPs, in this case, set 5 is just a recolor of set 1, with no changes to the character's features, just color swaps. Initially, I had planned only two designs in the center of the image following the Face/Bust idea. For People5_1, I thought about improving the outfit to my liking. I ended up making two more versions for both sets, faithfully following the Character design, but I still prefer of center sprites.
