2026, the Year of the Horse 🐎

This week was unusual, lots of rain and only a few training days. Things should get back to normal after this vacation.

Animal_6, the Horse with a saddle, to make it, I used 156-Animal06 from RTP XP with a base. However, I made some changes to the width, height, pixel distribution and added a saddle in a Western or more modern style, with that lighter detail behind where the rider sits (I can't remember the name of it right now), instead of something strictly faithful to the original design. I even thought about making a larger version of the horse following the same color distribution and original shape, but the problem would be the same as I mentioned with some sprites that "grew" from the RTP VX version, they end up looking incomplete or don't match other larger sprites that give me that impression.
Riding, the men on horseback, poor soldier holding just a spear with no horse to ride, I always think he doesn't make sense in this Character set without a horse. I also feel that Actor4_4 was missing from this set, since his male version, Actor4_3, is included and in the same way only one character from Evil received a horse. Since I made two designs, I ended up creating versions for Face/Bust as well...

If regret could kill, I would have been dead a long time ago. Why did I ever decide to make two or more design versions of the characters in RPG Maker!? Well... deep down I knew. I knew this path would be tough ever since I joined the RTP VXP project back in 2011 and ended up taking the lead, since in the end there was only one crazy person left, me πŸ€ͺ.

Now yes, I’ve reached the last Diary day of 2025. I'm satisfied with keeping the posts consistent, even though on some days I almost couldn’t manage to make even one frame. I admit that leaving Saturday and Sunday out was the best choice for me, it would have been exhausting to stay engaged every single day of the week. Anyway, once again I wish for all happy holidays. May your dreams and unrealized wishes be fulfilled in this new year of 2026 and may it be a better and positive year.
