I woke up at 4 a.m. to kill mosquitoes🦟🏸. I didn’t count exactly how many, but I think it was around ten or more. I had left the window slightly open because of how hot it was during the night and now I’ll have to come up with something to keep them from getting in. Damn blood-sucking mosquitoes 🤬. I went to the gym, I’m starting to lift the same weights I used to before I caught that cold, but I still want to improve. I still have a runny nose, even if just a little and it’s been exactly a week now.

Actor4_3, the knight, the differences are in the armor. The one on the right looks simpler due to the lack of detail, while the one on the left keeps the same detailed chest design.
Actor4_4, the female knight, in the version with the larger bust, she doesn’t have armor around her waist, so her thighs and waist are exposed and the wings above her ears on both sides of her head have more vibrant colors.

The heat is getting more intense 🌞

I’m still not 100%, damn runny nose and cold, aaah. I’m already on my second box of medicine, hopefully I won’t stay like this all week. I went swimming early after some time off, did 1900m and go the gym. Still haven’t managed to get my rhythm back...

Getting into the RTP VX Ace right now. By the way, the design improvement by Fumio (faces and busts) is huge compared to the RTP VX, the faces are more detailed and seem to have a different highlight to them.
Actor4_1, the armor on the first one (bust), the spikes on the shoulder pads, some details similar to the face but different from the character sprite by MACK, it reminds me a bit of that Warrior (his class in the Database) from RTP XP, with red hair, whose chin is hidden by the armor, giving the impression of heavy armor that looks larger than the human body, very well protected.
Actor4_2, I decided to give her a defined abdomen, since her class is clearly a fighter, listed as Monk in the Database. Her hair has changed a bit compared to the original character sprite and her top is more revealing in the bust version.

I spent the weekend resting, I not do any physical activity since Wednesday (the day I caught a cold that got worse with a runny nose). But from not doing anything, I could feel my body asking for it. So today, since I’m feeling better, I went back to training, though I’m still not fully recovered. At least my nose stopped constantly running. Ha ha ha.
Another week begins, I went to the gym, worked, and studied at night.

Three characters at once to finish the Actor3 set:
Actor3_6, the top part of the elf’s outfit looks like a simple vest, while in the bust portrait she’s wearing one with a V-neck, long sleeves with full shoulders, and a slightly different color.
Actor3_7, for the dwarf, it looks like he became a completely different character, even his beard and eyes differ between the character sprite and the bust (face).
Actor3_8, the nekomimi’s bust image shows more of her body, while the character sprite doesn’t, and the tips of her hair are slightly different. The way I drew her mouth doesn’t look so good when the image is scaled down here in the post, it kind of makes her look scared, like this emoji 😖. Maybe I’ll switch it to pink and see how it looks later.

I woke up feeling a little better, but I still have a lot of nasal discharge, can’t wait to recover 😷...

This time have:
Actor3_4, this is the female thief from the VX version. I still don’t understand what that higher boot on just the left side of the sprite is supposed to be, could it be a place to store a knife 🤔? To make her design closer to the original character, I tried giving her a firmer abdomen, while for the bust area she wears suspenders.
Actor3_5, the male elf, doesn’t really have much difference between the designs.

I’m still not 100% recovered, it’s really bad having to keep blowing my nose 🤧, the mucus seems endless 😖. Being sick makes me more tired than usual, my muscles feel more fatigued, I get sleepier, I can’t think straight and if I take too long to clear the excess mucus from my nasal passages, it starts to bother me and give me a headache 🤕...

Once again, it seems to me that Actor3, just like Actor2, doesn’t have that many differences between their character and face (bust) designs.

Actor3_2, the fighter, seems to rely heavily on fists, the gloves look big even though the original sprite’s style is chibi. The difference between them seems to be the illusion that the more faithful version of the character sprite looks like she’s wearing suspenders when made taller in this VXP style. Cousin of Tifa, is that you!?

Actor3_3, the thief, barely had any changes.

🤧 Again

As I expected, I caught a cold. No fever, just a runny nose, but my body feels heavy. Usually, I recover within two weeks if I keep taking the medicine properly...

Between Actor2 and Actor3, this time they are:

Actor2_8, with her eyes hidden by her hat it looks like she has a darker persona. I understand that because of the frame size (32 pixel) in the set, it wasn’t possible to make the witch’s hat point higher like it is in her bust image. The biggest change is in her hat.

Actor3_1, the Fighter, as it’s classified, confuses me a bit. Actually, I think the XP classification is a little confusing since it labels "Fighter" as someone who uses swords, when clearly the name and design suggest a character who fights with fists or martial-style weapons (staff, nunchaku, gloves, etc...). The design based on his bust ended up giving him a modern look, almost like he doesn’t fit the fantasy theme, more like a street fighter... *ba dum tss*

😥 Damn... my throat... 😷

The diary keeps going work, I passed 10 posts a few days ago!

Today I woke up with a scratchy throat (will probably get inflamed), in the middle of this heat but with strong cold winds, it must have been because of that. Or maybe because of the crazy stuff I did over the weekend. He he he.

The day stayed hot and muggy, no rain. Today I trained legs a lot in swimming, which made it hard to do the leg exercises at the gym. I still feel sleepy and tired, I think it’ll take me a while to recover. The worst part is my throat like this, I bought a natural remedy to keep it from getting inflamed...

It seems like the Actor2 set had only a few changes in their designs, so they look similar.

For Actor2_6, the difference is in the hair, the strands are pointing more upward, making curve. For Actor2_7, it was more about the accessory and I tried to add facial expressions to the small character sprite. I’m not sure if it ended up being too accurate to the point of standing out from the other characters or just looking weird.

Both are classified by her as Black Mage. If I follow the logic of comparing magical elements with design colors, I’d guess Actor2_5, with its blue tones, would use water/ice magic, while the old man among the black mages would be aligned with fire (with red tones) and maybe earth, while this girl might be lightning or wind and the witch (Actor2_8) would have more elements but weaker ones, with her specialty being dark, kind of like Oscar in Evil!?

Well, anyway, the one who decides that is whoever makes the game, but I like playing around with assigning elements, class/fighting/weapon styles to character designs.

A really “short” weekend… 😩

Since I was already make the routine of swimming and gym on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. This past Saturday I ended up following my usual exercise routine in the morning, even knowing that at night I'd be attending an event with lectures that had me walking🚶‍♂️ about 15 km (we even ran in some parts) and doing some aerobic exercises I'm not costume to do🥵... and only getting back home the next day. That left me exhausted and I practically didn't even see the weekend go by, it was gone in a blink. Sunday, I then napping twice during the day, which messed up my sleep at night. The good part was that there were lots of people there, close to 150 or maybe more, I don't remember the exact number, at least 150 crazy people along with me. ha ha ha

Today I went to the gym, back to my routine, but this time I really felt my muscles fatigued, so I decided to take it easy, it's not good to get injured. Then I went back home, worked and studied.

The characters I edit were Actor2_3 and Actor2_4. Just like last time, they didn't go through as many drastic design changes as the two characters from last week. She classifies them as White Mage 02, though to me the blonde girl with the red beret looks like she brings in other magical elements beyond just white magic. "A character's design can tell a story", right? 🤔... 

And the man looks to me like he belongs to some troop/division/group of clerics coming from frozen lands, almost like a uniform.

Another week coming to an end 📅

Time is fast, we’re already getting close to the end of the month and soon enough to the end of the year. After I down in bed last night, it took me a while to fall asleep. I still felt sleepy during the day today😪 , but at least I managed to rest a little more, and I feel like I still need to improve my sleep. Today I went to the gym and decided to run on the treadmill… honestly, I didn’t like it. Running on a treadmill while staying “still” in an enclosed space doesn’t make me feel comfortable. I prefer running outside, but since it was very windy and I didn't have a proper clothes, I was worried about getting sick from the cold wind. I worked and studied for the rest of the day, reviewing what I went over during the week.

I’m considering keeping the Diary just for weekdays and leaving weekends without posts. I won’t always be home on weekends to write and work on pixel art for the RTP characters. Maybe I’ll bring some of the things I did over the weekend into Monday’s post.

Today, characters are the ones that had very little design change between their face (bust) and character. They are: Actor2_2 and Actor2_3, the white mages🧙‍♂️ .

🌬 Drastic change...

Unlike yesterday, the morning was very windy and cold, so I was surprised and regretted not bringing my parka for swimming. I went to the gym and even though I did two workouts back-to-back, I felt like I managed to pull/lift more weight today than I did yesterday on the machines and dumbbells. When I got home, I took advantage of some free time to finish yesterday's assignment. After that, the same weekly routine. I saw that the Marvel Zombies miniseries had just come out, I wonder if it's any good? I'd love to see a "What If" with Deadpool versus Marvel, like in the comics.

This time I managed to work on 2 characters: Actor1_3 and Actor1_4. There wasn’t much difference between the two artists’ designs this time, I think...

While tweaking the color palette and fixing some pixels that bothered me when looking at certain characters, I noticed there’s a difference between the 2 DLCs (Pre-Order Bonus and VX&XP Hero) that I’m using as reference for making the RTP characters in another style. Even though one of them has a higher image resolution, it seems like there are cropped busts in the most “recent” RTP DLC for MV, while the older Pre-Order, some don't... by the way, too bad VX&XP Hero ended up incomplete because of its own name, only “Heroes”. (ノへ￣、)
